UVA EMPLOYEES

details

University of Virginia full-time employees (staff and faculty) are welcome to apply their annual education benefits towards French language training with the AFC after they are approved by UVA. The Alliance offers group classes or private lessons for UVA employees in different fields of expertise (medical, academic etc..).

Examples

The AFC has been serving students of French in Charlottesville and its greater area since 1992. For the past 30 years, we have taught many UVA employees and faculty. For example, UVA employees come to us to prepare for research and field work in French-speaking environments. Some want to hone their writing and speaking skills to be able to communicate with French-speaking colleagues in Europe, Asia and Africa. We’ve had nurses who wanted to refresh their French to be able to communicate with their patients. The possibilities are endless!

how to apply

  1. Browse our offerings: Group classes and private lessons. Email us if you have any questions. You may want to take our free placement test before selecting a class.

  2. Register for your selected class (select “payment by check”), do not send us a check but email us to let us know that you intend to pay using UVA education benefits program.

  3. Apply for your education benefits on UVA Workday. We recommend you apply several weeks in advance of your intended start date with us.

  4. Once you receive approval from UVA, finalize your payment with us. Voilà!
