next to the outdoor parking lot (site of the
Saturday Market) of Charlottesville's downtown mall.

Building in the Spotlight!

The Pink Warehouse will be our new home as of our upcoming Annual Meeting (open to all Alliance Française members), this June 2012!  We are so pleased to be moving to a new downtown location, and in such a beautiful building, rich with history!  Among many other things, it was the site of a very early Dave Matthews Band concert and is even rumoured to have inspired one of their songs!  Click here to read about the full history of the building in the words of Roulhac Toledano, owner the building.  Roulhac is a longtime Alliance Française Board of Directors Member and benefactor.  She is an accomplished historian, published author, curator, lecturer, artist, and architectural renovator.

The Alliance Française de Charlottesville began in 1992 and officially opened in 1993.  We offer French classes and varied social and cultural events to francophiles in the greater Charlottesville community. Our operations are partially funded by membership and donations and every single amount counts, no matter how insignificant it may seem. Please click on the button and donate - at your discretion.
