| Elementary School : French Language Classes For Children Of All Ages
L'Alliance Française is offering a unique combination of classes, social and
cultural activities with francophones from around the world. Our instructors are
French natives or fluent speakers with university degrees. Classes are small and
can be held with a minimum of 6 students. Schedules can be modified to
accommodate the wishes of the group. Quality teaching and small groups give you
the best chance to quickly improve your French. Individual/group tutoring can be
organized upon request. Four different levels

| Level Descriptions “Petits Workshop” (5-7 Years old): An excellent program to expose your child to a foreign language. It emphasizes simple communication by placing children in a familiar context suited to their age. Children work around a theme: a story which they explore using drawings, collages, songs and rhymes. Children learn through hands-on experience, and the language comes naturally. “Enfants Beginners” (6-8 years old): In this class, children will learn basic skills including greetings, colors, numbers and more. Games, activities, songs and short dialogues will give them a feel for the language and keep them engaged. “Enfants Advanced” (9 years old and up): Read and write, learn lengthier dialogues, acquire more vocabulary, learn more verbs and tenses (past and future), the geography and history of France; also fun activities and songs. Four to five sessions of 10 weeks plus a summer camp will enable the students to make the transition to the intermediate level. Summer Camp 1 (5-7 years old): An excellent program based on the five senses to expose your child to a foreign language. It emphasizes simple communication by placing children in a familiar context suited to their age. Children work around a theme: a story which they explore using drawings, collages, songs and rhymes. Children learn through hands-on experience, and the language comes naturally! Summer Camp 2 (8-12 years old): Students will recreate a story. The teaching of the vocabulary, grammar components, and phonics as well as French culture, history and geography, will be based on active learning methods involving guessing games, comprehension activities, songs and crafts. English Grammar for Students of French (all
ages): E1 French grammar refers to a number of grammatical terms such as conjugation, pronouns, direct and indirect objects and many others. You might not be sure how to recognize those parts. This class will teach you how to identify parts of speech and to analyze the function of words in an English sentence. Without this basic knowledge, students are severely handicapped in learning French. →Tools: student book English Improvement for Foreigners and Francophones (Intermediate or Combined Level) : E2 Students will practice speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while enhancing grammar and vocabulary related to practical topics. Classroom activities are task-oriented and designed to help students apply what they have learned.
