April 2010:

  • 4/13:  Wreath Laying at 9:45am for the Anniversary of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello
  •  4/15:  Hugo Live, with Alain Lecompte at 6:30pm at the UVA Chapel. This 90-minute musical tells the story of Hugo’s life and loves, his belief in liberty and peace, and the power of his convictions in the face of tyranny.  Free.  For details: http://www.virginia.edu/french/exile_hugo2010

  • 4/17: Sparkling Wine Tasting à la Méthode Champenoise by Claude Thibaut from Thibaut-Janisson at 6:30pm at the home of Catherine Hermary-Vieille.  Wine and Cheese with Desserts.  Silent Auction.  Directions provided upon RSVP.  $25 for Members and $30 for Guests.  RSVP by April 12th to rsvp@afcville.org
  •   4/21:  Lecture by Nicole Yancey, Honorary Consul, at 7pm at the Municipal Arts Center, “La France a l’Heure des Regionales” in English and French.  Followed by a wine and cheese reception.  $10 per person, $5 for adolescents.  RSVP to rsvp@afcville.org
  • 4/23:  French Home Cooking Class at 4pm followed by Dinner at 7pm (for the Cooks and Guests): Recipes and know-how from the “Régions françaises” and former french colonies (Vietnam, Tunisia, Martinique, Sénégal).  This second class, held at a Member’s home, will focus on French West Indies home cooking.  Dinner will be open to Guests.   25$ for cooking class and dinner (up to 10 participants) – $20 per person for dinner only (up to 16 additional people).   Price includes wine and refreshments.  Address and driving directions provided upon RSVP to rsvp@afcville.org.  Please reserve by April 20.
